No iBooks Version?

Well, as much as I'd like to have a version of The Restraining Order, and all my subsequent short stories, available that's directly readable in Apple's iBooks app, that won't be happening for a while because of the requirement that I have an ISBN for each "book."

The process for getting an ISBN isn't all that hard, but it is $25 per title, and so far, I've only sold 13 copies of the first story.

I know, it's a chicken/egg thing. Will making the stories directly available to users of iOS devices bring me to a larger audience, and end up paying for itself and then some? I'd certainly like to think that. I'll see how the next story does, and then decide.

In the meantime there are Nook and Kindle apps for your iOS devices. Check out the sidebar on the right.

A Little Encouragement

Well, not only have I gotten a great review on Amazon's website, but I got encouragement from one of the toughest audiences out there…my nine-year-old daughter. She laughed her head off as Cheryl and I read The Restraining Order to her as a bedtime story. I assured her that there would be more stories coming, so next month look out for Plum Tree Road.

In the meantime, I'll try to figure out how to make my stories available through the iTunes Store for iBooks on all of Apple's iOS devices. That should give me an even greater audience.

Now for Kindle Too!

After a week of delays because of technical difficulties, my short story The Restraining Order is now available for the Amazon Kindle as well as the Barnes and Noble Nook. Here are the links for each:

The Restraining Order - Nook version
And please, let me know if you enjoy it. I've got other stories I've been thinking of publishing this way.

The Restraining Order is Now Available for the Nook Reader!

Yes! My first short story, The Restraining Order, is now available for owners of the Barnes and Noble Nook reader and Nook apps. I'm hoping that it will soon be available for Amazon's Kindle and Kindle apps. And at only 99c how can you go wrong?

Here's the link for the Nook version: The Restraining Order

If enough people like this, I'll put up another story next month.

Coming Soon eStories by Keith Gatling

After years of telling my stories to students at the Manlius Pebble Hill school in DeWitt, NY, I've decided that the time has come for me to try to publish them. Since the Internet has changed everything, I've decided to go with ePublishing to see where that takes me. My goal is to have stories available for Kindle, Nook, and iBooks (for the iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad).

My first short story, The Restraining Order, should be available in a few days.

The website should also look better. Remember, I'm still new at all this.
